J’Adore! What a great place to learn to dance, to learn new moves, to gain confidence and most importantly to have fun. Josh Love trained Pam Dalpiaz and I to compete in a great fundraiser in Gastonia. After several months of practicing we learned two great routines that helped us win first place, bragging rights. I don’t think that we could have gone somewhere else and have received the kind of instruction that we did in such a short period of time. We also never knew that getting in shape could be so much fun!

We looked forward to our dance lessons each week, which brought us closer together as we prepared for our Wedding Day. In less than 10 weeks we had an amazing dance that wowed our guests. Our dance definitely set the tone for the rest of the reception. To this day, our wedding guests still compliment us on the dance.

I started taking ballroom dance lessons from Josh at J’Adore in the summer of 2005. On top of enjoying the lessons, the family and friend like relationship that developed over the years is precious!

J’adore Ballroom is a comfortable environment to meet people, have fun and just dance! The owners create a fun, energetic, supportive atmosphere while maintaining utmost professionalism. They are extremely knowledgeable instructors who are committed to helping you reach your full potential on the dance floor. My dancing has improved tremendously because I am always challenged and encouraged in private and group lessons.

I am a ballroom dance addict, and a slow learner. I have been saved from total financial collapse by the low-cost lessons I have been able to have over several years. I am also especially appreciative of my poor instructor, Mariela, who, with my being her most difficult student, graciously accepts my efforts to teach her. When she beats on the wall, she does it outside my awareness. There is an unusual amount of flexibility offered at J’Adore. They seem to tailor the instruction to what the student specifically wants. I did not have to agree to do showcases, and I have been in charge of my own curriculum (perhaps one of the reasons for my being a slow learner), though if a person does not have a preference, they provide good guidance. Also, there is no pressure to avoid taking lessons simultaneously elsewhere if the student so wishes. And I have been very pleased to be able to practice at just about any time at no extra cost. J’Adore has become my family. Although I have not taken advantage of other activities at J’Adore, the diversity is impressive, with classes in both peaceful meditative Yoga and methods of efficiently killing your assailant, not to mention various religious services. So do I recommend J’Adore? You bet!

I have not been dancing very long & I am also not a young man in years any more. I was recommended to J’Adore and Mariella by a friend who has been dancing for years. Dancing was very much “out of the box” for me. I have been more than pleased with my experience with J’Adore. Mariela & Josh, the owners, are wonderful and excellent instructors. Mariela is my personal instructor for my private lessons. I cannot imagine a better instructor anywhere. She has been dancing since she was seven years young. She has become one of my best friends and I always look forward to our lessons. I have noticed other students enjoy working with their instructors too. Josh has been my instructor for group classes. He is excellent too. Like Mariela, Josh can teach at a level that students can handle, yet improve too. Dancing is also very healthy and helps keep me in shape. I believe that it is also very healthy for my mind. I highly recommend J’Adore, their private lessons, and their group lessons. The group lessons can fit into anyone’s budget. They are very affordable but taught at a very high level. They also have parties where you can dance with people with all levels of dance backgrounds. Everyone has been friendly and I have made some long lasting relationships at J’Adore. Give J’Adore a try. I did and I’m glad that I did.

Learning our wedding dance was a once in a lifetime experience that brought us closer together in the months leading up to our wedding. We were working together as a team to accomplish something that was difficult, yet fun and rewarding. We had a great experience that we will never forget.

I have been a student/client/friend of J’Adore for several years now. (Even though I’ve moved to Raleigh, I still come back to Charlotte for lessons!) I found a wonderful set of teachers and friends who have demonstrated professionalism, patience, creativity and humor with me. Make no mistake; learning to dance well is not necessarily an easy thing to do. However, the people at J’Adore make it an enjoyable and fulfilling experience. I’ve had fun, worked hard, lost weight, laughed and smiled a lot. Bring your heart and desire; they will bring out the dancer in you.

There are numerous places to dance in Charlotte but none as warm and inviting as J’Adore Ballroom. With a friendly and professional staff they make you feel like you’re part of the family. The studio is conveniently located just off the Tyvola Road exit on I 77 so you don’t have to wander thorough endless side streets and stop for numerous traffic lights to get there. For me it’s a straight shot down I-77 from the Lake. I’ve taken lessons from Mariela for more years than I can remember (one of the draw backs or benefits of old age) and it never ceases to amaze me how she can pick up and recognize those little details of what you’re doing wrong and how you can change to do it correctly and improve how you look and dance. I think J’ Adore offers one of the best values in ballroom dancing in Charlotte and would highly recommend it to anyone interested in learning to improve their dancing.

We like coming here because the instructors take a genuine interest in seeing us do well. From going out of their way to make the studio available for practice, to helping us pick out what to wear for competitions, they make sure we have what we need to succeed.
